Whew! It was a good final night and a closing that included the parents. The kids sang for them and then snow-cones for everyone!
Thanks for the prayers. I’m tired but my voice did well through the week. Pray now, as we travel home tomorrow. We would like to make it all the way but if we run out of energy we’ll stop somewhere before driving in on Sunday.
Pray for Green Acres South Baptist Church as they do the work in Flint, TX. It’s a very dedicated group of people that desire to reach a community.
Blessings,
John
Thursday at Tyler
Hi friends,
Thanks for the prayers. We had a total of 31 kids tonight with about 13 of those being preschool. Out of the 18 school age, we had 3 decisions during our time together. Looks like right now that it’s mostly a “security” thing. The kids were very attentive and lots of seed planted for the Kingdom.
We appreciate your prayers as we wrap things up tomorrow.
Blessings,
John
Wednesday Night, Tyler
It’s been a busy day. Had meetings at lunch…all in preparation for the evenings VBS and tomorrow’s decision service.
It was a good night. Again, the hard working, dedicated people desired more kids more were very grateful for those in attendance. About 27. The kids were active and receptive and we are grateful.
Please continue to pray. Tomorrow night around 6:30 we will have the decision service. Pray that I am clear and concise and that the counselors have the discernment as they counsel.
Blessings,
John
Tuesday Night, Tyler
Hi Friends,
It was another good day. Mighty hot. The temps do not bode well for August. They’ve gone several weeks now without rain and 3 digit temps. We were headed home tonight at 8:45 p.m. and it was 94. It reached 105 today. Totally brutal.
We had a nice group, always praying for more but grateful for the ones that came. We’ll do some seed planting tomorrow and see what God gives us on Thursday. Thanks for the continued prayers for vocal strength and God’s plan.
Blessings,
John
Monday Night, Tyler
It was a good start. 27 kids showed for the first night and few “hitches” so all in all everyone was pleased.
Continue to pray. Just planting seed for Thursday’s decision service.
Blessings,
John
Sunday in Tyler
This morning we went to the service at Green Acres South. Following the service we headed out to eat with the VBS team, talked and visited.
At 3:30 we headed back to the church to move in and set up equipment for the nights Kick Off of VBS. I think everyone involved would have liked to have seen more guest show up but it was a fun night.
We’ll start tomorrow night at 6 p.m. Thanks for the prayers.
John
Arrived!
Thanks for the prayers, friends. We arrived, safely, and will head out to the church, Green Acres South, in the morning for the morning service and meeting with the staff and faculty of the VBS. Then tomorrow afternoon we’ll set up our equipment and be a part of the VBS Kickoff tomorrow night.
Satan is working in the midst of things right now so pray that God will reign supreme. Lots of disruption and personal attacks on those seeking to serve.
I’ll keep you posted!

Weekend
Well, miy friends arrived on Friday around 1:30 p.m. We ate and visited shortly then Rod looked over everything and examined how the flooring was going to go in. Then we started. Patty and I along with some sweet next door neighbors had prepared the floors by removing the carpet, cleaning and getting the furniture out of the way and now it’s time.
We began and learned a few things early (most folks told me it happened with them that way too) and then it started going down. We got 3/4 of the way through the first room and my bud, Rod, said that he had had enough with the long drive and all so we called it a night. On Saturday we started about 8:30 in the morning and with a lunch break, we worked until around 8 p.m. when we decided, ENOUGH! Almost all the flooring is down with the exception of the hallway, thresholds, and quarter-round molding, we’re done and it’s beautiful.
Not ready to do it again anytime soon but my good friends, Rod and Stacy, are lifesavers and made it all possible.
Blessings,
John
Sunday at Hillcrest
It was a great day as I had the privilege of leading in worship at “base camp”. I miss my friends and supporters when we’re on the road so it’s good to be back in front of the choir and congregation.
I led in worship and choir practice Wednesday night then again today due to our Worship Minister out with Youth Choir Tour.
The next two weeks we will be doing some home improvements before heading out again for Vacation Bible School in TX.
Keep up the prayers and thanks so much.
John
Home
It was a great two weeks. We saw 16 decisions that were definite in Baton Rouge. 8 professions of faith, 2 for baptism, and 6 recommitments. Others are being counseled further and it will remain to be seen what God will do. We appreciate your prayers and are glad to be home for a couple of weeks.
My voice is extremely tired and worn but it’s all good, isn’t it?
A total of 93 decisions for Christ as Savior in 2 weeks. To God be the glory!
Blessings,
John
