It’s afternoon here in TN. In about an hr. we’ll head to Jackson and get ready set up for the banquet. The State Baptist Convention is going on right now and this banquet is designated for the DOM (director of missions) of all associations. Dinner followed by me. Hope they all enjoy it! I’ll give you an update when we return.
Blessings,
John

Juniper Grove, Wednesday
Well, its the last night of services here in Poplarville, MS, then I’ll be heading home. The senior adult luncheon went well with Gladys the Churchlady and The Professor making their presence known quite vividly. Last nights service was youth night. It was a difficult time of ministry for most of the students present last night were not church kids. Not raised in worship services so there were a few problems but we pray that “seed” was planted and hang on to the promise that His Word doesn’t return void.
Tonight is family night and we look for God to continue to work. I’ll be heading home first thing in the morning and looking forward to a little time “down” and off the road. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Blessings,
John
Juniper Grove Update 11/3
Well, here we are again. Last night went pretty well but there was considerable “warfare” going on and that made things difficult for me as well as the preacher. It makes your prayers all the more important so I’m trusting you get to see this before the service tonight.
It all started once I got there. My usual thing is to put my service for the evening on the jump drive and leaving my computer at the house where I’m staying.
I get there and do just what we did for Sunday morning and Sunday evenings service and the computer, when preacher’s computer, when reading my jump drive, doesn’t show the Monday evening service. It’s not there. Hmmmmm…….I know it’s there because I double checked it before I left. So…I race back to town to the place I’m staying and grab my computer so I can use it. I get back to the house and check everything out and it’s all there. I thought it might be because I’m running an older version of power-point than the preacher but then why would it read Sunday morning and Sunday evenings service that were done identically with the same computer. Demons!!!!!
Nevertheless, other things were distractions last night as well so your prayers would be appreciated.
Blessings,
John
Juniper Grove Update 11/2
Hi friends,
Well, I’m sitting in Hardee’s using the free wi-fi so I can give you an update. The services yesterday went well. It’s a very tradional church but the pastor is trying to lead to a more blended “fresh” music service and with that comes the usual things.
The music we did yesterday, for the most part, was recieved by the people although they would prefer hymns only. There was little movement yesterday so we are praying for a breaking free in the services to come. Join us in this prayer.
Thank you for your continued prayers of strength and a fresh anointing as I do the work.
Blessings,
John
Headed to Poplarville, MS
I’ll be headed out in the morning for Poplarville, MS. Revival services begin at Juniper Grove Baptist Church on Sunday and run through Wednesday. Patty will be staying home making the 3rd consecutive engagement she’s had to miss due to illness. Not the flu but a viral infection nonetheless and although she’s feeling a good deal better, she’s not up to working again. Lots of energy involved in being with people constantly while on the road. Maybe missing just one more engagement will enable her to be back full strength for the following weekend.
I’ll keep you posted on the services as we go along.
Blessings,
John
Flat Rock Baptist Church
It was family night tonight and there was a good turnout and lots of fun as I did a concert geared for the family. I don’t know what a good crowd is for the church but by descriptions, it may not have been a Sunday morning crowd but a good one none the less.
Tomorrow there will be Sunday School at 10 a.m. and I will follow with the morning service. Immediately after the service I’ll load it all and head home. It’s a little ways up here, 350 miles, so I appreciate the prayers as I travel.
Blessings,
John
Flat Rock Baptist Church
Hi friends. I’m scheduled to leave in the morning for Flat Rock Baptist Church in Hickory Flat, MS. I am going to be doing a family concert on Saturday night and the Sunday morning service then returning home.
Please pray as I travel, for safety and God’s provision. Patty will be staying home. She’s struggling with a sinus infection and hardly feels like driving and working. I’ll be in a pretty remote area so I doubt I’ll be blogging. Just pray and I’ll update Sunday night or Monday.
Blessings,
John
Weekend of Ministry
It was a great weekend of ministry. We headed out yesterday around 10 a.m. for a program yesterday evening in Heflin, AL. It was an Upward Flag Football Awards Program and was lots of fun with a full house. We headed home, arriving late.
This morning I was asked to give a brief overview of my ministry for our congregation since I am out so much and many of our people have never seen me use the gifts God has given me. I used the Professor for a little 10 minute spot and then sang the “special music” spot and was graciously received.
God is good, all the time and I appreciate your love, support and prayers.
Blessings!
Closing Night, Bucatunna Baptist
Hi friends,
It was a great closing night. The pastor was a bit concerned with the crowd, not knowing what to expect but knowing that there would be typically not as many visitors with it being Wednesday night. There was a very large crowd for them, they said. 117 tonight. The church body was thrilled saying this was the only revival they could remember where the crowds exceeding 100 every service. The people were gracious and responsive and I pray that the seed planted in hearts will bear fruit.
My voice remained strong, although I’m kinda bushed at this point. We will be heading home tomorrow for a little time off.
Thanks again for your support of this ministry. Sure would be more difficult without you!
Blessings
