Mobile, Tuesday

Sorry for the delay. I appreciate you checking in. Last night’s weather was unbelievable. The noon time with the pastors of the area went well with a good time of fellowship, lunch and my program. They were gracious.

When I headed to the church yesterday evening I felt if ANYONE showed up for the service there would automatically be more people there than I would have thought. We ended with a nice crowd. A little down but understandable. Still had a nice response during the invitation as people allowed God to speak to them and they listened.
The voice is becoming a bit tired but still doing well. Pray for the strength and I appreciate it.

Mobile, Sunday

It was a really good start to the revival meeting of the week as we saw many at the altar both in the morning service and the evening service. God led me to speak to the church more so than the lost knowing that if we, as a church, get things in order then we will see the lost come to Christ.
Tomorrow I will be speaking at the Mobile Baptist Assoc. pastor’s conference at lunch and will have the evening service at the church.
My voice feels good so keep those prayers going. I talked with Patty several times today and she is a bit frustrated over the situation of having to stay at home but we pray that as she takes this time off that God will truly heal.

Blessings,
John

Loading Up

Packing and loading tonight to pull out tomorrow. Again, Patty is taking a week off and trying to heal from a very aggravating infection. She has gone through a series of blood tests but nothings solved as of yet. The last advice she recieved from the doctor was to get some rest, take a daily vitamin, and let the stuff run it’s course.
At this point, we are thinking she’ll be able to head out on the road for the next meeting in TN.
Pray and I’ll keep you up to date.

Tuscaloosa, Wednesday

Well, your prayers were heard and I was strong enough to make the entire service to 193 kids and we saw 9 more professions of faith. God was working overtime with this meeting and it was a thrill to be a part of it all.

A total of 52 kids coming to know Christ is phenomenal and I am blessed to be used. Tomorrow I will head home and IMMEDIATELY continue preparation for my upcoming revival meeting in Mobile.
I will be leading the worship AND preaching so it will be a major shifting of “gears” as I prepare. Your prayers are deeply appreciated.
Blessings,
John

Tuscaloosa, Tuesday

Hi again, friends. It was another great night as we ministered to 186 kids. It was a lot of music, “friends”, and “managed chaos” as we saw 6 kids come to Christ. Praise the Lord!
I would appreciate your prayers. I’m getting a bit tired now with my voice and have one night left. I would like to finish strong so prayers on my behalf would be great! Thank you for your faithfulness in keeping up with me. You are a blessing!

Tuscaloosa, Monday

It was another great night. Thanks for the prayers. My voice, although tired, is doing very well and the kids are super responsive and eager to see the next “friend”, each taking a guess as to who it’s going to be.
We had 11 more children that gave their lives to Christ tonight for a total of 37. Continue to pray. We had 194 in attendance tonight so the energy was off the charts. We are beginning each evening at 6:30 so if you happen to think about this ministry at that time, lift us up, please.

Blessings,
John

Tuscaloosa, Sunday p.m.

Thanks for the prayers. God really moved. There were 196 kids ages k-5th grade and after about 45 minutes of music and ventriloquism we moved the K’s and 1st grade out and I spoke to the others. At the invitation we saw 26 professions of faith after all was said done. Awesome, huh?
Thank you for your continued prayers for strength (the services in “Big Church” are relatively long so we are having to go pretty long with small ones. Prayers for my voice would be appreciated as well.
Blessings,
John

Tuscaloosa, Sunday am.

It was a pretty good start. The kids were excited and seemed to love my “friends”. Pray that we are able to do what God desires. The 9 a.m. service went a little better than the 10:30. We had quite a few powerpoint glitches in the second service and that was somewhat of a distractions. Remember, I have having to try and find someone to operate it for me since Patty is out. So pray!

Service tonight at 6.
Blessings,
John

Tuscaloosa Revival

Arrived, as planned, around 4 p.m. Moved some things in with some help and got it all ready to go for tomorrow. There are 2 services tomorrow morning so pray for strength and effectiveness. Tomorrow 9 a.m. and 10:30. Oh, one other thing. The children’s minister, Tammy, is having a little difficulty finding someone to run my powerpoint. This is crucial, so pray.

Blessings,
John

Preparing for Tuscaloosa

Hi friends. It’s been quite a week. Lot’s of preparation for the upcoming revival meetings, first stop… Tuscaloosa, then Mobile, Gates (TN), and Meridian (MS). Through all of it, Patty has been diagnosed with EBV (Epstein Barr Virus). It manifests itself in many ways according to the individual but basically it’s Mononucleosis on giant steriods. It’s been suggested, strongly, that she rest for a considerable time as well as take vitamins and immune boosters. At this time, that’s the only treatment.
All this to say that for at least the first two meetings, she will remain at home taking it as easy as possible while I travel. Pray for her recovery and pray for God to provide someone at each meeting that can run my powerpoint presentation each evening and handle that end of the ministry.
First to Valley View Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. I will drive up tomorrow and set up to be ready for Sunday morning. This will be a simultaneous Kids Revival along with the church wide effort. Pray that God will reach hearts and lives through my music and friends as well as the speaking. The plan is that we will begin with all ages and singing along with ventriloquism. Then after about 40 to 45 minutes we will excuse the younger children and I will speak to the older ones eventually drawing them in and giving them an opportunity to receive Christ.
I will give you updates as I go along. Thank you for your prayers for me as well as for Patty.
Blessings,
John
