Wednesday, Vesta

God moved and the Spirit was strong during our time together. There was a little movement and we are thankful. Much more response at the conclusion of the service. God is working in this fellowship.
Pray for us tomorrow as we head home.

Blessings,
John

Tuesday, Vesta

Really good attendance tonight. I’m tired and not doing all that great a job, quite honestly, but God is using this ministry to speak to those present and I’m thankful.
Tomorrow we will close things out then head home. Pray that we finish strong.

Blessing,
John

Good day…Tough night

Oh, you know how it goes. In our weakness, He is strong…it was that kind of night. A number of distractions caused me to be less than sharp. Didn’t feel like I was very effective and although there were no public decisions, a number came to me afterwards telling me how God had used me. I’m thankful.
I will work here tomorrow and try to accomplish some things!

Blessings,
John

Good Day

We had a good start to the revival although not the movement we had hoped at invitation. Good thing that’s not up to me.
Great crowd this morning with homecoming and dinner on the ground. A few less tonight but I geared my message for the church, the faithful to challenge them.
Tomorrow, I will work on what God has in store then go to lunch with the pastor.
Pray for His will,
John

Arrived in Vesta

Had a great wedding with friends in Chattanooga and then headed to a community about 45 minutes southeast of Athens, GA, Vesta, Ga.
Just arrived, safely, and will get some rest. Tomorrow morning we will head up to the church to finish the set up we began Thursday.
Revival will run through Wed.
Blessings,
John

Tired

Hi gang,
It was a good day. Didn’t sleep all that well last night but was able to rest a little today before heading to the wedding rehearsal downtown. Things went pretty well, being the first time I’ve played Trumpet Voluntary with a harpist. Singing The Lord’s Prayer, and finishing up with Trumpet Tune. All with the harp.
Tomorrow we will head to the church for photos, the wedding, and reception, at least for a bit before driving back to Vesta, GA,
Not knowing what I’ll have in the way of Internet so let me just tell you now, how to pray for us.

Travel to Vesta, rest Sat night, each service Sun through Wed night. I’ll be leading worship and preaching.
Then we will head home Thursday.

Thanks so much for checking in and remembering us!!
John

What A Day!

We pulled out at 6:45 a.m., and headed to Vesta, GA. We arrived at 2 p.m. and moved in equipment. We ran out of time to fully set up but will have time early on Sunday! We left after dropping the trailer and drove to Chattanooga, arriving @ 7:00, 540 miles later.
I will try and rest tomorrow until the wedding rehearsal.
Thanks for the prayers!!
John

Wednesday, Enterprise

A full day today. Got things ready at the church for my absence the next 8 days and after a late night with rehearsals, I’m home packing and loading the truck for an early departure tomorrow.
It’s going to be a long day. We’ll pull out at 7 a.m. and drive about 40 miles east of Athens, GA, where we will set up equipment and unhook the trailer. After that we will immediately drive up to Chattanooga, TN, for a wedding rehearsal and wedding on Saturday. Immediately after the revival, we will drive back to Vesta, GA, and begin revival services on Sunday.

We covet your prayers,
John

Merry Christmas, Tuesday

A really busy day was finished at the church around 8 p.m. tonight as we had our first “extra” Christmas music rehearsal. A nice group came out about the time a storm moved in. Got a really good downpour to let people get a little wet and walk into a cool choir room. Sure hope no one gets sick. It was a good rehearsal as we covered of the tougher songs. We have our work cut out for us but this choir is high quality and in time, they will learn these songs and be outstanding. We’ll continue to work these songs hard and let God take us through.
Now, I’m about to start working on my upcoming revival so I guess I better go!

Sure appreciate the prayers!
John

Busy, busy, busy

Everything began with rehearsal at 8 a.m. Our orchestra and praise team meet to rehearse the choir piece for the next Sunday, then run through all the music, including the choir anthem, for the day’s service.
Then, at 9:15, the first service begins followed by the 10:45 service with only a few minutes in between. We were back up at the church around 4 p.m. as Patty began cooking 14 lbs of ground beef for Taco Stackup (I call taco salad) and the youth choir, after rehearsing from 5 p.m. to 5:45, then swarmed like locust and enjoyed every bit of it. Lots of fun…it’s a good group.
The next few days will be long ones as I spend the days in the church office and my nights in the home office preparing for the upcoming revival services in Vesta, GA.
thanks for the prayers,
John
