It turned out to be a really small, albeit active, little country church. We had a good turnout of all ages for kids night with a total of about 70 men, women, and children.
I’m tired. Everything involved 2 set ups. I arrived around 2:30 to move things into the fellowship hall area. It was a full set up being that there was no sound system. After the program ended around 6 p.m., I moved what I was to need in the morning on into the sanctuary and packed the rest. Whew!
Tomorrow I will lead the morning service and then head home following the service. It’s about 380 miles up so it will be a later night. Pray for safety in traveling as well as effectiveness in the service.
Blessings,
John

Weekend in Ripley
Headed out today for a kids/family weekend in Ripley, MS. Everything doesn’t actually begin until tomorrow afternoon but I’ll be knocking out the 7 hr. drive today.
The two programs will be; kids tomorrow evening and churchwide Sunday morning then the drive back following that morning service.
Appreciate the prayers!

Yazoo City Concert
It was a great homecoming. This morning I was in children’s Sunday School and did a spot in the morning service as well as played the offertory.
Tonight was a great night as I had the entire service and lots of memories as I looked out over the congregation. Of course, the first thing I told everyone who watched me grow up to FORGET everything they saw.
We will head down to Biloxi, MS (gulf coast) tomorrow to be a guest in the Mississippi South Regional Senior Adult Evangelism Conference.
Pray for travel as we drive first to the coast then home following our program there.
Blessings,

Kid’s Camp, Brandon
Great camp! Wet, wet, wet! I’m tired of the rain but God worked through it all with 2 professions of faith and several others that will be followed up on in the near future. Thanks for the prayers.
We packed up and loaded in the rain (no covered drive) and headed to Yazoo City. Looking forward to sharing in the morning service and doing a concert in the evening for the family. It will be a good day and a bit of a homecoming. FBC Yazoo City is the church I was raised in so pray for a good turnout and a nice evening. Still lots of rain in the forcast.
Blessings,
John
1st Summer Camp
Well, those of you that faithfully check in have, no doubt, wondered if there would ever be a post on this site again. We’ve had some down time so I’ve taken advantage of it but now it’s time to hit the road. Today we’ll be driving to Florence, MS, just south of Jackson, for a preteen camp with 192 kids.
Pray for safety in travel and pray for lives to be changed. Lord willing, I’ll be able to post and give you updates.
Blessings,
John
Men’s Retreat
It was a great retreat with over 50 men. The retreat, sponsored by Hillcrest Baptist in Enterprise, AL, was held at beautiful Lake Martin, Dadeville, AL. There were 38 men participating in the golf part of the retreat, 10 bikers riding a different route of over 300 miles each day only to return for dinner and worship and there were 6 or 7 fishermen taking advantage of the beautiful waters.
There was wonderful worship each evening and a prayer service on Friday night with many recommitments. Thank you for your prayers,
John
Gearing up for Men’s Retreat
Here we go. After some nice time at home, I will pull out early in the morning to head to Dadeville, AL, for the Hillcrest Men’s Retreat. Our men go to a beautiful area of AL that offers golf, fishing, and some nice curvy backroads for motorcycle riding. We have men taking part in each activity. At the conclusion of the day we will meet at a local church (they have graciously offered their fellowship hall for our worship services) for a great time of worship and Bible study.
The retreat will go through Saturday noon. Please pray for safety as we travel and as the motorcyclists travel their daily 300 routes. Their will be some guest that perhaps are not Christians so pray for them as well as each man that there will be a desire to get in a deeper relationship with the Lord.
Blessings,
John
Ino Baptist Church
It was a great day. About 20 minutes from the house is Kinston, AL, and Ino Baptist Church. This church is in the middle of a pasture but when you get inside the place is full with folks, energy, and a sweet spirit. I did a kids spot with one of my friends and played the offertory this morning then had the evening service.
It was a blessing as the congregation participated with me in worship and was very responsive. Here’s an addtional blessing…a number of Hillcrest members came out to join in the service. Man, what a tremendous blessing God has given us through this church We praise God for all He’s done.
We’re home now for a couple of weeks and look forward to the time.
Blessings,
John
