Social Springs Baptist Church, Revival

Hi friends,

We’re at the hospital.  RELAX!!!  I’m using their internet!!  It’s a planned test of our host.  Friends of ours have opened their home while in this revival meeting and he is having some test run today in the outpatient facilities.  While those test are being done I’m getting in touch with you.

This will, most likely, be the only posting until Thursday.  We are in a remote part of LA and don’t have cell service let alone internet, so I’m going to give you an update and prayer needs then I’ll post again on Thursday, Lord willing, and let you know how things went.

We drove the 535 miles on Friday, set up equipment Saturday then began services yesterday.  We had good services yesterday with movement and decisions in both services.  On Sunday afternoon I did the Awana gathering time before the evening service.  It was a blast!

The people in the church are very warm and receptive and we pray that we’ll see more movement and response to His Spirit.  This is always a plea from pastors.  It was obvious in both services that God was working.  Some are a little slower to respond publicly so pray that God will break through the bondage.

Let’s see…prayer needs would be vocal strength.  The last several meetings we’ve had involved me doing both music and preaching so the old vocal chords are a bit tired.  Doing ok, but tired.  Pray for His strength as I continue the work.  Secondly, pray for Social Springs Baptist Church.  This church seems to be in the middle of nowhere but is growing and full of young couples with children and is prime for doing something great!  Where this formula present, the devil wants to work really hard.  Pray for them and their pastor, Bro. Jack Bell.

Finally, my friend Tony is having a biopsy taken from one of his lungs.  He is not a smoker but cancer is a possibility.  Not sure, the doctors say but that’s what’s out there.  So pray for him and God’s will.

I’ll be in touch Thursday evening, Lord willing, and let you know how things went.

We love you and appreciate you,

John
