Pastor’s Conference, Wrap Up

Your prayers were a blessing as we finished up a wonderful retreat.  The response was great and the men and their wives were receptive.  Thank you for remembering us as we wrapped things up there and began our journey home.  We are in Attalla, AL tonight where we’ll spend the night and head home tomorrow.

 Thanks again,

John

Pastor’s Conference

Thank you for your prayers, friends.  It’s been a good weekend here in Ridgecrest, NC.  We wrap up things Sunday morning and will head out after lunch.  Our friends, a pastor and wife from Attalla, rode with us, so we’ll go to their house tomorrow, spend the night, then head back to Enterprise Monday morning.

We appreciate your remembrance of us as we wrap things up and drive tomorrow.

Blessings,

John

Wednesday

Had a great night, friends.  We had a nice turnout in Cordele tonight and pray God’s Word will grow in the hearts of all in attendance.

We’ll head to Attalla to spend the night with some friends before heading up with them to the pastor’s retreat.  Thank you for your continued prayers.

Blessings,

John

Travel

After much preparation in a short period of time, we head out tomorrow for Cordele, GA, south of Macon for a fall festival at FBC.  From there we’ll head to Attalla, AL, spend the night as we pick up some friends to head to the pastor’s conference in Ridgecrest, NC, on Friday.

Pray for our travel and for each presentation.  I will try and keep you updated!

Blessings,

John

Home

We have arrived home.  It was a good revival meeting and we had a great visit with mom and dad.  Dad has completed his cancer treatments and now we are waiting on his follow-up with the urologist on Wednesday to see where to go from here.

In the meantime, I was able to do a few household and yard chores to help out and, although still fighting fatigue as a result of the radiation treatments, dad was upbeat and active.

Thank you for your continued prayers as we follow HIS leadership with busy schedule.  Wednesday we’ll head out to Cordele, GA, then on to Ridgecrest, NC before heading home again.

Blessings,

John

Social Springs, Revival

Things ended well.  We appreciate your prayers as things ended strong.  The folks were really responsive and we pray Social Springs Baptist Church will experience revival for weeks to come.

We headed to Yazoo City this morning and arrived after lunch.  We will spend the next few days helping out parents doing odd jobs and such then head home Sunday morning.

Thanks again for the prayers.  You are a blessing,

John

Social Springs Baptist Church, Revival

Hi friends,

We’re at the hospital.  RELAX!!!  I’m using their internet!!  It’s a planned test of our host.  Friends of ours have opened their home while in this revival meeting and he is having some test run today in the outpatient facilities.  While those test are being done I’m getting in touch with you.

This will, most likely, be the only posting until Thursday.  We are in a remote part of LA and don’t have cell service let alone internet, so I’m going to give you an update and prayer needs then I’ll post again on Thursday, Lord willing, and let you know how things went.

We drove the 535 miles on Friday, set up equipment Saturday then began services yesterday.  We had good services yesterday with movement and decisions in both services.  On Sunday afternoon I did the Awana gathering time before the evening service.  It was a blast!

The people in the church are very warm and receptive and we pray that we’ll see more movement and response to His Spirit.  This is always a plea from pastors.  It was obvious in both services that God was working.  Some are a little slower to respond publicly so pray that God will break through the bondage.

Let’s see…prayer needs would be vocal strength.  The last several meetings we’ve had involved me doing both music and preaching so the old vocal chords are a bit tired.  Doing ok, but tired.  Pray for His strength as I continue the work.  Secondly, pray for Social Springs Baptist Church.  This church seems to be in the middle of nowhere but is growing and full of young couples with children and is prime for doing something great!  Where this formula present, the devil wants to work really hard.  Pray for them and their pastor, Bro. Jack Bell.

Finally, my friend Tony is having a biopsy taken from one of his lungs.  He is not a smoker but cancer is a possibility.  Not sure, the doctors say but that’s what’s out there.  So pray for him and God’s will.

I’ll be in touch Thursday evening, Lord willing, and let you know how things went.

We love you and appreciate you,

John

Ringgold, Travel

Thanks for checking in with us.  You are a blessing and we appreciate your prayers.  We are heading out this morning for the 11 hr. drive to Ringgold, LA, where we’ll be leading in Revival Services beginning Sunday.  Because of the distance, we plan on driving it today and that will give us tomorrow to rest up, set up equipment, and therefore be ready for Sunday.

Pray that God shows up and the people allow His Spirit to flow by responding to His leadership.

Dayton, Sunday

First let me correct myself.  The pastor I would like you to remember is not Sanders but Saunders.  Doug Saunders.  Thanks.

Next, I would like to thank you for your prayers.  The service was wonderful Sunday morning.  The altar was full as God did his work in the people of Edgewood.  It was so exciting to see and we pray that God will continue to work in the hearts and lives of his people at Edwood Christian Center, Dayton, OH.

We headed out following the service and drove to Chattanooga, TN, where we spent the night.  We arrived home around 2:30 p.m. and have kinda crashed.  Tomorrow we’ll begin making preparations for the revival services in Ringgold, LA.  As with Edgewood, I’ll be doing both the music and preaching so prayers on behalf of voice and strength would be much appreciated.

Blessings,

John

Dayton, Saturday

Hi Friends,

We had a good day today.  Patty and I took some time and visited the National Air Force Museum here in Dayton.  It was quite spectacular and took a great deal of time to go through.

We got to the church and people began drifting in.  Much better crowd tonight as well.  God seems to really be working during our time here.  I’ve seen the pastor really encouraged by this meeting.  If God has led us here for no other reason, he’s used us to encourage one of his servants.  Praise the Lord!

We will be wrapping things up tomorow at the 11 a.m. service and loading equipment immediately following the service.  Our plans are to drive to Chattanooga, spend the night then head on home on Monday.  We appreciate your prayers as we finish this work and for our drive home.

Remember the pastor, Doug Sanders, as he fulfills his call here at Edgewood Baptist.  Also the young couple in a 2 year commitment with the North American Mission Board, James and Hilary Taylor would appreciate your prayers.  They finish their 2 years on June 1st, 2009.

Thank you again for your prayers.  They mean so very much!

John
